Raza Academy sumbits memorandum to Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Dy P.M. L.K. Advani

Following is the memorandum presented to Smt Sonia Gandhi and the Deputy Prime Minister Mr. L.K Advani on their visit to Mumbai today which you are Kindly requested to publish in your Esteemed newspaper.

Sub: Demand for impartial probe into bomb blast and compensation for the victims

Honourable Madam,

With due condemnation of the recent bomb blasts in Zaveri Bazar and Gateway of India The Raza Academy and the Ulemas of Mumbai hereby thank you for visiting the site and consoling the victims. We are utterly shocked by the state governments legal machinery’s attitude in projecting a one sided picture of the blast by naming only the majority community fatalities and maintaining a stoic silence with regards to the casualties of the minority community.

Going by the statistics and reports outside the hospitals the minority community is also as much affected as the majority community in yesterday’s blast. But no one is willing to highlight that fact, as everyone is busy poiliticising the issue.

We demand an impartial probe into the whole incident and request you to kindly take the initiative to highlight the fact the Terrorism Knows No Religion as those injured and killed in yesterday’s blast equally belong to both the communities. We also demand compensation of Rs 500000/- for those killed and Rs 200000/- for those injured in the blasts.

We hope you shall kindly accede to our demands and do the needful for creating better atmosphere between the two communities
